Free learning games for kids ages 2–5

Toddler Academy is a collection of 203 preschool games that plays straight in your browser — no download, no account, no ads. Every game speaks its instruction out loud and uses big tappable targets, and a wrong tap stays just a wrong tap: no score, no timer, no game-over screen.

How it works

Three taps from landing here to a child playing.

  1. Press Let's PlaySprout, the little green mascot, reads the first instruction aloud — "find the apple" — and four big pictures appear.
  2. Your child tapsA right answer pops, cheers and moves on. A wrong one gives a gentle nudge and waits. Nothing is ever lost, failed or timed.
  3. Pick any game, any timeBrowse all games opens the full catalog so you can jump straight to counting, letters or the calm corner instead of following the sequence.

Preschool game categories

The catalog is built from 33 different kinds of game, grouped into the 13 categories below. Every one is free and playable right now from the Browse all games screen. Some games are counted in more than one category — a letter-tracing game is both a letter game and a tracing game — so the totals below add up to more than 203.

What children learn

  • Early literacy — letter recognition, letter formation, first words and listening.
  • Early maths — numbers, one-to-one counting, numerals, sorting and patterns.
  • Thinking & memory — matching, shapes, colours, sequencing and puzzles.
  • Motor & self-regulation — tracing, tapping, timing, naming feelings and calming down.

How progress is shown: there are 18 collectable stickers in the album and a Parent Corner with simple play stats. Children never see a score or a leaderboard.

For grown-ups: privacy, safety and settings

What we do not do

No ads. No in-app purchases. No sign-up, no account and no personal information collected. No third-party behavioural tracking or ad-personalisation signals. Anonymous usage counts are IP-anonymised and are not collected at all if your browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal.

Progress and stickers are stored locally in your browser on that device. Nothing is uploaded, and the Reset button in Settings clears it.

Settings you can change

  • Reduce motion — no idle wiggles, particle bursts or looping animations. Turned on automatically if your device already asks for reduced motion.
  • Calm mode — no celebration overlay, a gentle chime instead.
  • No-fail mode — wrong taps stay silent, with no shake and no buzzer.
  • Co-viewing tips — a short talk-about-it prompt for the grown-up after each game.
  • Volume — five steps, including off.

Frequently asked questions

What is Toddler Academy?

A free collection of learning games for children ages 2–5. Kids play matching, counting, sorting, shape, colour, letter and sound games that build early literacy, numeracy and motor skills. It runs in any web browser and is also built as a native iOS and Android app.

How many games does Toddler Academy have?

What do children learn?

Children practise colours, shapes, letters, numbers, counting, sorting, matching, patterns, tracing and listening. Every game is tagged with the skill it exercises, so caregivers can steer toward early literacy, early maths, memory or motor practice. Progress is shown to the child only as collectable stickers — there is no score and no leaderboard.

Is Toddler Academy free?

Yes — completely free to play in your browser, with no ads, no in-app purchases and no sign-up required.

What ages is Toddler Academy for?

It is designed for toddlers and preschoolers ages 2 to 5, with large touch targets, spoken instructions and a no-fail design so very young children can play independently.

Can a 2-year-old play without help?

Mostly, yes. Every game speaks its instruction aloud and has a repeat button, targets are large, and a wrong tap never ends the game — it nudges and lets the child try again. There is no score and no game-over screen. If you would rather play alongside, each game also shows a short talk-about-it prompt for the grown-up, and no-fail mode removes the wrong-answer feedback entirely.

Is Toddler Academy safe and ad-free?

Yes. There are no ads and no third-party behavioural tracking. The app is COPPA-friendly and privacy-first: it collects no personal information, and optional anonymous usage analytics honour the browser's Do Not Track signal.

Does Toddler Academy save progress?

Progress and sticker rewards are saved locally in the browser on that device only. Nothing is uploaded, there is no account, and clearing browser data or using the Reset button in Settings erases it.

Does Toddler Academy work on a phone or tablet?

Yes. It is built mobile-first and runs in the browser on phones, tablets, laptops and desktops. On a phone or tablet you can add it to the home screen from the browser menu, and it then opens full-screen like an installed app.

Does Toddler Academy need a download or internet connection?

No download or account is needed to play in a browser — just open the page. The games run client-side and the app can be added to a phone or tablet home screen like an app.

Is Toddler Academy accessible for children with additional needs?

Yes. Settings include reduce motion, calm mode, no-fail mode and a five-step volume control. Every game speaks its instruction aloud, interactive elements carry screen-reader labels, and the page honours your operating system's reduce-motion preference automatically.
